Problem Statement:

All chief commissioners of MACC since 2009 have failed to ensure justice for Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani, who died under the detention of MACC. The appointment of a new MACC chief during PH administration did not make any changes to culture of impunity of MACC officers. The appointment of the chief by the then premier Mahathir bypassed the parliamentary select committee for appointment of key public officers.

Value(s) and Belief(s):

To ensure a person of high quality, integrity, respect human rights be appointed to all key positions in all government institutions, especially MACC.

Proposal of Solution:

To ensure the parliamentary select committee on appointment of key public officers to deliberate the candidacy of all key public officers including the chief commissioner of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the candidates shall have the background or education of human rights to prevent the deaths in custody in the future.
